sika deer

The hunt for a Sika deer in New Zealand is for one of the most sought after deer of the North Island.

These deer make for a very exciting and challenging adventure and can earn you a typical trophy of 8 points.

The Sika Deer can become quite aggressive during their rut which begins in March and lasts though to end of April. A distinguishing squelch can be heard during their rut which is the call to their females and to alarm other Sika Stags of their presence.

We hunt Sika Stags from February through to September.
