A very large, cunning deer that is amazingly alert. The Sambar stag belts out an alarming fog-horn like noise during their rut. When you hunt one of these large Stags that can weigh in excess of 400 lbs, your hunt will truly be worthwhile.

Our hunts for Sambar are on private land and we have some of the largest Sambar in New Zealand. Sambar Deer hunting is available April through December with their rut in July and August on the North Island of NZ.
