Fallow Deer
Close your eyes and envision a strong frog-like croaking noise made by a fallow buck protecting his females. Now place yourself atop a gorgeous New Zealand mountain staring down the barrel at an aggressive alert Fallow buck, perhaps one of the largest of its kind.
Hunting fallow deer free range and game estate is available from February through September and the “Rut” begins April and extends to the end of May. During the rut, the Fallow Buck gets very aggressive towards other bucks and animals. It is not uncommon to see them stomping their feet and ripping up the vegetation they inhabit. Their best known feature is its palmated antlers, similar to a moose. Their hides range in color from dark chocolate to pure white, as well as menil or red with white spots. Their pretty heads and amazing colour skins make spectacular trophies for the wall and often hunters have an interest in hunting one of each particular colour. Spot and stalk is our hunting method and we can hunt them throughout the entire day. Our blood lines produce some of the biggest Fallow deer available.
The Fallow deer is a very challenging and unforgettable hunting experience. Fallow deer is good eating, very mild and lean. Hunting Fallow is an adventure you won’t forget!
